Meet Marion Garver
With 39 years of teaching privately, experience in flute coaching at local schools, and many performances on piccolo, flute, alto flute, bass flute, contralto flute, and contrabass flute, Marion loves meeting new students and continuing students, helping them to express themselves to the best of their ability through some traditional and some new techniques that are tailored to the student's needs.

Tailored Music Education
Lessons
I am accepting students of all ages and levels in my University City home studio. I give 30 minute and 60 minute lessons. I love adult students and my youngest students are around age 10.
Performance
Performances of many types, both live and in studio settings. I have performed with Duran Duran and the Violent Femmes, as well as with electroacoustic composers Shawn Pinchbeck and Gene Kosowan. I can read music and improvise and I have a wide variety of flute sounds to choose from. I currently perform with Flutes de Salon, a flute quartet based in San Diego, and the Game Music Ensemble at UCLA, where I play flute, alto flute, bass flute, contralto flute and contrabass flute
